Staff Psychotherapist, Soho Psychotherapy
Meet Olivia Sindall
Hi, I’m Olivia — My work centers on helping clients explore how early experiences and attachment patterns shape the way they connect, communicate, and care for themselves today.
I work primarily with emerging adults and young professionals — many in their first experience with therapy — who are beginning to ask deeper questions like:
Why do I react this way?
Why do my relationships feel hard?
Who am I really, outside of where I came from?
In our sessions, I use an attachment-based lens to help you explore and integrate the many parts of yourself.
We take time to understand what’s happening underneath the surface and why certain patterns keep showing up. I don’t follow a rigid agenda or one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we collaborate to find what’s most helpful in each moment. Sometimes that means role-playing communication skills, exploring emotional triggers, or using tools like EMDR or IFS to access deeper healing.
My goal is for clients to leave therapy with greater self-compassion and confidence — not because life feels perfect, but because they know how to navigate imperfection with awareness and care. I want you to trust your own tools, not rely on me or anyone else to “fix” you.
Before joining Soho Psychotherapy, I worked in university and community mental health settings supporting students and early-career adults through major life transitions. I also have a background in fine arts, and that creative lens continues to influence my style: intuitive, curious, and attuned to emotional nuance.
I’ve lived up and down the East Coast but have made a home in New York with my partner. As an artist at heart, I love exploring museums and galleries in the city and beyond. I continue to use my creative practices to ground, recenter, and process my own experiences and I find peace and perspective through time spent in nature.
Education
I hold a Master’s in Counseling from Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development. My academic path also includes dual undergraduate degrees from BU—a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting—reflecting my long-standing interest in both creative expression and meaningful communication.
I’m deeply committed to lifelong learning and staying current in the field of mental health. I’ve pursued advanced coursework and certification in trauma-informed care and am currently in the process of obtaining EMDR certification to deepen my work with trauma and healing.
